HUGE Korean Beauty MEMEBOX Haul 2015 Pony Shine Easy Glam Yeondukong Summer Fun Box Vol.2 Hair Box #HairGameOnPoint

Since I’ve discovered memebox, I’ve already made like three huge purchases, literally buying for head to toe.

I don’t wear super heavy makeup and I don’t like to wear mascara or eyeliner often as they tend to dry out my eyes. If you are a lazy bug like I am, you are always out looking for makeup items that would simplify your steps of beautifying yourself. I’m a believer in less is more when it comes to makeup. Wearing tons of makeup, layering after layering is going to worsen the condition of you skin. Maybe in another topic I should write about my current face base makeup. For many years, I’ve stick with just bb cream and I failed many times in contouring, well, I did it all wrong back then, lol.  I would say that after I got into contouring, I couldn’t stop.  It did took me a while to find the right products for myself.

Well, let’s focus on just the HAUL for this post. My most recent two boxes are mostly eyeshadow makeup so I’m talking more about eyemakeup routine. I now use eyebrow pencil from It’S SKIN Baby Face Natural Eyebrow (01natural black) to draw my eye line and to my surprise it doesn’t fade, smear or smudge like usual eyeliners would, and this sister used waterproof back then. In my opinion, most waterproof eyeliners do nothing to prevent itself from fading and smearing on my lids, it crumbles instead of smears. Not anymore after I use It’S SKIN Baby Face Natural Eyebrow. I find it workable with other eyebrow pencils for some strange reasons, special the creamier ones.   However, I don’t use these creamy eyebrow pencils as an eyebrow pencil, they are a bit to wet for my taste. For my eyebrows, I like something that’s more dry but it is still a pencil because eyebrow powder just didn’t do the trick for me, I’ve tried both US brands and Korean brands, I ended up using those for my eyelids. Luckily, I’ve found my holy grail more than a year ago, which is my SANA – New Born EX 3-in-1 Eyebrow Mascara and Pencil (B02 Grayish Brown), However, it does rub off if I touch my eyebrows accidentally, so I like to wear a base color with CLIO Tinted Tattoo Kill Brow, which is a brow tint that gives a very natural look for brows. The color is very subtle and I’m glad I got the darkest color out of the three options (03) dark brown. I first discovered this in Koreadepart , but the shipping is too high for one item so I turned to eBay. I did purchased MEMEBOX I’M NANA Eyeshadow Palette from Koreadepart though, shipping being around $8 for one palette and one pencil, that’s the only place I could get it (I think it’s also available on Gmarket but Koreadepart still has a better price overall). It took forever to ship, it was around their holiday or something. However, I’m happy to get this palette because I love those cocktail colors.

Enough being said,  drum rolls for unboxing! It’s a bit unorganized as usual and please excuse the picture quality, it’s my iphone4

Pony's Favorite Set #01 Brown

If you read my previous post, you would know that I bought the Pony’s Season 3 Eyeshadow palette in the orange one and I love it. I haven’t had a chance to work this quad out, but I’m sure it’s going to be pretty gorgeous like the orange one. If you are struggling between the three and you think you’ve enough nude shades in the house, you should get the orange one. I don’t know if it’s just me being a pale Asian having problems with western brand eyeshadows, they don’t work very well with my skin color and I have trouble finding the right color lipsticks as well. The only western color makeup that has worked with my skin is FLOWER by Drew Barrymore, however, none of her current eyeshadow palettes attract me enough to buy them.

I’m so glad that Pony’s choices of color really work for my skin color and my features in general. I only purchased one palette on my first order and was hesitant to get other items in her line. After I became really satisfied with her eyeshadow palette, I’ve decided to buy her lipsticks as well. I was only going to order 02 Spring Romance, but the set for BROWN + Rose Garden 01 was really attempting. I don’t have a nude palette so I thought it wouldn’t hurt to get her BROWN eyeshadow palette and lipstick came with it. I would say it’s a great, the Rose Garden came with it it’s super gorgeous and it’s semi-matte. I didn’t think I was going to like it as much, but I think I would be one of my favorite go to color. The color is toned down than 02 Spring Romance,

I’m amazed at this set, very comparable to high-end multiple sticks.

Shading stick is creamy and easily blended, Blushing Stick is ok, nothing surprising, but oh my, the highlighting stick is really awesome, I didn’t think I was going to like it because I don’t do highlight as I try to stay away from things that’s glittery and shimmery, but this is just glowing, but not glittery. I rub a product of the product on my finger tips and apply from the checkbone up to my temple and a dab just a bit on my cupid’s bow, wow, it makes me have that natural inner glow, it’s super natural.

Yes, I’ve use everything in this set, no complaint and I wish to buy more of this~ If you want to know how

I have to say that CC cream in syringe smells really good. I got this because I want to try out the Mise en Scéne Perfect Serum, it’s decent. I have no problem using up these which is great because a lot of hair products I’ve tried, they are so bad that I have to throw them away before finishing.

Pony Shine Easy Glam Seasons 1 & 2 Value Set

PONY x MEMEBOX

Pony Shine Easy Glam Seasons 1 & 2 Value Set

$35.00

I got this edition right before the launch of Pony’s new & improved shine easy glam

The new & improved took out the applicators and both palettes are equal in size.

Maybe too many people complain on how small the Glam 2 really is and a lot of people side GLAM 2 has a lot of fallouts. I don’t know if the formula really changes, if you got both, let me know it has changed.

I haven’t use the GLAM 2, I’ve so far used the EASY GLAM 1, I really like it, no crazy fallout or anything. From the online description, it seems like the new & improved shine easy glam changed the formula and it would deliver bolder color.

I’ll update on that later and do more in dept comparison then

SEPHORA Favorites Skin Wonderland 2015 and Real Techniques 301 Flat Contour Brush

PIC_20151025_195106_BCE PIC_20151025_195458_5AD

After splurging on makeup items in September (I’ll post on those later, all of my favorite eye shadow from memebox), I promised myself not to spend anything on makeup/cosmetics. Things always go in the other direction and I ended picking up a set of

SEPHORA Favorites Skin Wonderland 2015 & Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection 301 Flat Contour Makeup Brush

Great buy though, I just want to post this before I forget to blog about it.

I rarely buy any sets because they always contain at least one or more item that I wouldn’t like when I sample them in the store. This set is the exception, I like all of them when I tested out in store so I thought it wouldn’t hurt to buy this set. The size for each individual items isn’t super tiny either, they all would last more than one use. Its as described, pampering from head to toe. Surprise that this kit isn’t available online for some strange reasons. I found the other similar kit, which is $68 not $39.

SEPHORA Favorites Skin Wonderland 2015 (Sephora inside JCPenney)

  1. Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm (7ml) USA
  2. Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser (30ml) USA
  3. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream (1oz) USA
  4. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF15 (2.2g) FRANCE
  5. Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment (15g) USA
  6. Josie Maran Cosmetics Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter in Apricot Vanilla (2 fl oz) USA
  7. Kate Somerville Skincare Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment (15ml) USA
  8. Marula Pure Beauty Oil Foaming Cleansing Oil (30ml) USA
  9. Olehenriksen Truth serum collagen booster (0.33 fl oz) USA
  10. Peter Thomas Roth Rose Stem Cell Bio Repair Gel Mask (15g) USA
  11. Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate (15ml) USA

is it worth $167 as described?? I’m calculating the price based on lowest original retail price per ml/oz

  1. Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm (7ml) $29.90
  2. Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser (30ml) $5.60
  3. First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream (1oz) $5.00
  4. Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF15 (2.2g) $12.00
  5. Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment (15g) $19.00
  6. Josie Maran Cosmetics Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter in Apricot Vanilla (2 fl oz) $8.75 ($12)
  7. Kate Somerville Skincare Exfolikate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment (15ml) $17.50 ($22)
  8. Marula Pure Beauty Oil Foaming Cleansing Oil (30ml) $4.79
  9. Olehenriksen Truth serum collagen booster (0.33 fl oz) $12.42
  10. Peter Thomas Roth Rose Stem Cell Bio Repair Gel Mask (15g) $4.50
  11. Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate (15ml) USA $25.00

29.90+5.60+5.00+12.00+19.00+8.75+17.50+4.79+12.42+4.50+25.00=$144.46

so I guess the makeup bag is worth $22.54

[the price in parentheses is the price for those items at that size, in which the company does make smaller sizes]

So it’s a pretty deal overall. I would say I do recommend this one especially if you want to try out those expensive skincare at smaller size before you commit to buy them in their original size.

Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection 301 Flat Contour Makeup Brush

I got my kohl’s cash coupon so I decided to splurge on this brush before my coupon expires. After all that discount, I paid in total about $13.57 instead of $26.00

Kohl’s has this collection of brushes in bundle with style 300 (tapered brush), which is the other that I was going to get, but I took a close look at them, the qualities are not the same as the ones that are packed separately. They are retail for $49 for three brushes, but I would still buy them separately, if you see them in store, you would know what I’m talking about.

WALMART FLOWER COSMETICS BEAUTY HAUL, BEST concealer so far (FLOWER’s HOLLYWOOD SECRET CONCEALER KIT)

I’m not usually a fan of US drugstore aka supermarket cosmetic products,

but boy I Couldn’t say enough about these, They look high-end without the splurge.

YES, all proudly made in the US and exclusively sold at Wal-Mart

These are my current favs from FLOWER brand by Drew Barrymore

TWO PERFUMES: CHERISHED and RADIANT (The perfume line has two scents, sultry, cherished, and raidiant).

*Just pick these up today, couldn’t resist for their packaging. they smells weird when I first spray them, but when I wear them together, magic happens! I don’t know what that is ! I didn’t get sultry because I couldn’t see myself wearing that alone.

OH, BTW, I also saw Garden, which must be the new scent from this Brand.

The two I purchased here are discontinued size, the newer ones are 1oz (30ml) each, which is twice the amount of mine.

If you are going to buy these from the Wal-Mart webisite wants to know the description of these scents, I’ll link the scent descriptions below so they would help you determine which scent to pick.

SERIOUSLY, THE BEST concealer palette I’ve yet found!!! The BEST, i mean the best!

Great coverage (if you use the right tool, which calls for a dense concealer brush) I use elf’s concealer brush (the yellow tip bristle)

GREAT color combo for my skin color

1 (TOP LEFT) Brightening primer, perfect for highlighting, I use it instead of regular shimmering highlighter, I don’t use it as a primer. Instead I use it on my forehead, nose bridge and cupid’s bow. Also great for highlighting brow bones

2 (TOP RIGHT) light concealer  for under my eyes, corners of my mouth, nose and also fix for lips

3 (BOTTOM LEFT) darker beige concealer, great for my moles and acne marks, blends with 2 to match my skintone

4(BOTTOM RIGHT) green color corrective concealer for reddish spots, rarely use thou

cons

*sadly only available in one shade, but it’s perfect match for me.

*DREW does have a brow kit, too bad the colors don’t work for me (mostly blonde and brown shades)

but my brows are gray-grayish brown

First impression on my First memebox purchases + 2nd memebox order Updated review on September

I don’t remember what I was searching, but I ended up at memebox and placed my first order.

When it finally came in the mail, I was really surprised at how small the package was. I ordered three items on my first order, they were

TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL

Dinoplatz U.F.O. Multibox – No. 21

XO MEMEBOX

Meme Puff Set 5 pcs

MEMEBOX

Pony Summer Love Box

Sadly, the only products that were sent to me were  TCFS’s multibox and Meme Puff. There is a flaw with Memebox’s US website. There is no customer service number so you can’t speak to anyone when something goes wrong with your order. On my first order, I realized my Pony Summer Love Box was missing, but there was no indication anyone stating that it was out-of-stock. I was notified with that information after I contacted the customer service, that kept me worried since on the invoice slip it said all items were sent to me. I don’t want to be charged with an item that I never received. I did took a picture and sent that to membox online customer service. A staff replied to me on a weekday and my inquiry was sent during the weekend so their responding time is actually reasonable in my rating.  BUT that shouldn’t happen for a mature online business like memebox.  They did apologized for my inconvenience though.

I combined two orders in this quick review.

PONY x MEMEBOX
Pony Shine Easy Glam 3 Eyeshadow Quad #03 Orange Bloom

my quick thought: Since Pony created 3 colors, it was really difficult to pick just one. I knew I didn’t quite want pink because I’m not into that smokey look. I rather wait for Nana’s edition to release in US (Nana’s palette has Orange and Pink together, which is so popular in Korean makeup look). After hours of looking into Pony’s Glam 3 Eyeshadow Quad, I decided to go with Orange Bloom. No regret at all~ it’s  BEAUTIFUL and I’m blown away.
WONDERUCI
Light Light Eye Balm

my quick thought: Feels weird but it smells really good. I haven’t seen real improvement, but no irritation means good news to me

DALTOKKI
Sticky Rice Facial Scrub

my quick thought:I use this after my normal DIY charcoal clay mask, fantastic result. I haven’t use it as a stand alone product

TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL
Dinoplatz U.F.O. Multibox – No. 21

my quick thought: I love the concept of this multibox, it really reminds me of Mool’s box, but that one is way more expensive. This box has a cushion, a makeup primer, a concealer and a blush/lipcolor. The cushion is pretty natural looking, but it could get a cakey/flaky, maybe it’s the makeup puff that included, that puff is really pretty, but the texture of the makeup puff is no where near the quality of my Laneige bb cushion (which is still the best one I’ve used so far). I love the smell of the cushion foundation in this TCFS  multibox though. The makeup primer is silicone base, but I never use primer as a primer, I think I would use it as like a Mally’s Evercolor Poreless Face Defender, which is an invisible powder over makeup. The concealer from this box is super duper awesome, it’s creamy enough to use it under eyes and it doesn’t caked up. The blush is the most natural looking coral blush I’ve ever used. I would buy the concealer and the blush/lip color alone if TCFS sells it.
XO MEMEBOX
Meme Puff Set 5 pcs

my quick thought: I haven’t use it, but they look like my cushion puff from Laneige

I wore TCFS’s multibox cushion,  Pony’s Glam 3 Orange in this picture. After I set my makeup with

Loreal’s infalliable makeup setting spray (no primer on eyelids or the face), this look was good for many hours in a sweaty day in NYC.

My lips were done with Etude House 101 play pencil, Hanskin’s lipcolor  and wet’n wild lipstick and boy i must say the staying power of Etude House 101 play pencil is very very awesome

Feb 2015:Current favorite makeup items Shea Moisture, Pacifica, Sana, Mally, etc.

I have sensitive acne prone skin so it isn’t always easy for me to wear makeup and I usually avoid wearing makeup on daily basis.
I’m currently in love with shea moisture cosmetic line because this line of face makeup doesn’t irritate my skin and I’m so glad it’s lightest color ” Waimea Bay Porcelain” seems like an ok fit for my skin color. Shea Moisture cosmetic doesn’t have a wide variety of lighter shades as it seems to target women of color. (Another brand I have in my mind right now that I haven’t had a chance to try out is Drew Barrymore’s Flower line, it seems to carry a lot of shades for fair to light tones)

Back to Shea moisture cosmetic line, the first item I tried out was its sheer foundation, it has light to medium coverage, it doesn’t seem to have a very good oil control, which I don’t really mind because I’m blotting my skin with Mally’s Evercolor Poreless Face Defender. I use it alone when I want a glossy dewy finished.

Shea Moisture Sheer Foundation
Smell:4/5 (description: no scent? more like mineral scent )

Consistency/coverage : 4/5 (description: light weight . Sheer to Medium coverage)

Value:3/5 (description: it’s $14.99, it costs more than other drugstore brands)

Shea Moisture color corrective system
Smell:4/5 (description: no scent)

Color: 5/5 (description: Fair works for my skin color)

Consistency/coverage : 4/5 (description: thick but not hard to blend, I use sponage instead of brush and i scoop out the product with spatula not with a brush. Coverage is medium to full, use with sheer foundation from the same brand. What I love is that it has three colors you can blend and its cream instead of powder like a lot of other contouring & highlighting products)

Value:3/5 (description: it’s $24.99, it costs more than other drugstore brands)

Package: 4/5 (description: a flip cover would be better.)

Ingredients: 4/5 (description: not going to be picky, it’s not vegan or organic but it doesn’t irritate my skin)

Shea Moisture Wet/Dry pressed powder
Smell:4/5 (description: no scent, much like other items from this cosmetic line)

Color: 3.5/5 (description: Waimea bay porcelain is a fair color but it still isn’t the perfect match for my skin, it’s too light if I apply with wet sponge, it works fine as a dry pressed powder).

Consistency/coverage : 4/5 (description: powder, dry application is light and it’s the best among drugstore powder. I’ve tried with a wet sponge, it is ok, but I guess if I want a wet application, I should use its cream foundation or use my sheer foundation. Dry application has light coverage and wet application has more of a medium coverage, however, this color is too light for me to use as a wet application.)

Value:3/5 (description: it’s $14.99, it costs more than other drugstore brands, which is generally less than that)

Package: 4/5 (description: since it was the last compact in the store, the package is damaged to a degree, it doesn’t appear sturdy to me, somehow this powder is not removable like others (shea moisture’s pressed powder is removable) )

Ingredients: 4/5 (description: not going to be picky, it’s not vegan or organic but it doesn’t irritate my skin)

Accessibility :2/5 (description: only available in Target)

Repurchase likelihood: 4/5 (if I can get my hands on it)

Pacifica radiant shimmer coconut multiples
Smell:4/5 (description: coconut yess)

Color: 3/5 (description: color payoff isn’t so good, it adds a bit of shimmer to skin, it also ok to use these as lippies).

Consistency/coverage : 3/5 (description: creamy .)

Value:3/5 (description: catch it when it’s on sales, it costs more than other drugstore brands)

Package: 4/5 (description: cardboard with magnetic closure, I think It’s nice )

Ingredients: 5/5 (description: nice, no petrochemical, coconuty )

Pacifica mystical eye shadow palette

Smell:4/5 (description: coconut infused, but I smell nothing)

Consistency/coverage : 3/5 (description: soft powder .)

Value:3/5 (description: catch it when it’s on sales, it costs more than other drugstore brands)

Package: 4/5 (description: cardboard with magnetic closure, I think It’s nice )

Ingredients: 5/5 (description: nice, no petrochemical, coconuty )

Accessibility: 3/5 (description: online and Target)

Pacifica smolder eye lining gel in Tahitian Pearl
Smell:4/5 (description: haven’t smell it, it doesn’t seem to have any if I remember correcting)

Color: 4/5 (description: it’s definitely not super intense like my other eye lining gel, but it’s what I want, it does bleed a little bit, workable and Tahitian Pearl is really pretty with that exotic greenish gray and a little bit of golden shimmer, but not glittery ).

Consistency/coverage : 3/5 (description: creamy .)

Value:3/5 (description: catch it when it’s on sales, it costs more than other drugstore brands)

Package: 3/5 (description: i don’t understand why it doesn’t include a nice eye lining brush, I guess that would raise the cost even more)

Viviscal hair filler fibers vs FHI HEAT Hair Veil powder hair filler

First impression:

I have long heard about how great Viviscal hair filler fibers are. On the hand, I have never heard anything about FHI Hair veil powder hair filler. Both offer coverage to thinning hair.

Viviscal hair filler fibers $22.49-24.99
This covers thinning area just ok, not so much different than my black dry shampoo. It tends to flake so if you wear lighter color shirts, it will show. You have to apply styling product afterward to prevent flaking.

Value:3/5 (description: 15g, I’ve only used it once and i have read elsewhere that if you use it everyday, it should lasts a month or so I think it’s pretty hefty for the price you pay)

Package: 2/5 (description: as expected, quite messy to apply, I did it over my sink and I have to wipe my sink and its surrounding area .)

FHI HEAT Hair Veil powder hair filler $22-25 *** WINNER

I couldn’t believe this works so naturally, I really didn’t expect this to work because its promotion video online didn’t impress me. At first I thought I could use my black shadow to achieve this, I guess it has something g

Value:3/5 (description: 4g, I’ve only used it once and I think it would last longer than viviscal )

Package: 4/5 (description: small enough to travel and not hard to apply at all. It’s not messy as hair fibers and it’s great for small areas. I would say use viviscal if you want to cover a large area and use hair filler powder for small thinning spots)

Boots Botanics Organic Super Balm – 0.37 oz -Retails around $8.99
At $24.30 per oz
Egyptian Magic all purpose cream – 2 oz – retails $26.00
At $13.00 per oz
Burt’s bee Res-q ointment – 0.6 oz – retails around $ 6.00
At $10.00 per oz

The first balm that I ever got was Burt’s Bee Res-Q ointment, I use it whenever I get nicks and cuts and it’s also great to use after a pimple heals, it really helps with pimple blemishes. But I would not use this as a lip balm, it works just like its name, resQ balm.
The most expensive one is Boots Botanics, it works ok and I like its ingredients.
Egyptian magic all purpose cream is huge compares to others and I rarely use it. It eventually became rancid so I have to throw it out.

I also figured out that beeswax tends to break me out if I don’t wash it out properly. So use those balms all over my face is not advised.

I will only repurchase Burt’s bee res-Q balm again
